Mental Health Clinical Director
Michele Tantriella-Modell (MS, Counseling Psychology, University of Oregon; LPC, NCGC II, CGAC II, CADC I, NCC, QMHP) is the Clinical Director for both the mental health and problem gambling programs at EMERGENCE. Michele also manages the Oregon Gambling Helpline, which receives over 3000 calls a year from people all over the state with gambling problems. From 1999 to 2002 Michele developed, implemented, and managed EMERGENCE's Batterer Intervention Program, NOVA. Prior to that Michele counseled people on parole and probation with alcohol and drug issues. She has facilitated a skill-building process group for adults from dysfunctional family backgrounds and has provided trainings to EMERGENCE counselors on varied topics. Michele provides individual mental health assessment and counseling to clients. She provides supervision to EMERGENCE counselors regarding treatment activities and strategies for clients with mental health needs and for staff interning for licensure. Michele frequently co-facilitates state-wide trainings to persons working toward certification as addiction counselors in the State of Oregon.
